NY Giants LB Cam Brown

The NY Giants’ coaching staff loves Brown, especially because of his athleticism and versatility to make plays off the edge or at inside linebacker.

Brown only appeared in 13 special teams snaps against the Jets, but special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey calls the Penn State alum and former sixth-round pick “a rare breed.”

Likely already punching his ticket onto the NY Giants roster on special teams, Sunday presents an opportunity for Brown to take another step.

T.J. Brunson’s torn ACL creates an opening for Brown to climb the depth chart ahead of Sunday.

As the NY Giants’ linebacking corps continues to be besieged by injuries, if Brown can get on the field on defense Sunday afternoon and plays well, he might begin carving out a niche in Patrick Graham’s system.
