NY Giants S Quincy Wilson

It’s going to take a Herculean effort to win a roster spot in the NY Giants’ suddenly loaded secondary, but the coaching staff is giving Wilson every opportunity to at safety.

Sunday, Wilson did a really nice job of positioning himself in front of Browns tight end Jordan Franks in the end zone, picking off Case Keenum and halting a promising Cleveland drive.

Wilson is looking up at Logan Ryan, Jabrill Peppers, Xavier McKinney, and Julian Love at safety. But, if the NY Giants wind up carrying five safeties — which isn’t out of the question, given coordinator Patrick Graham’s propensity for playing three safety sets, Wilson certainly helped his cause against the Browns.

It would seem at minimum, Wilson is playing his way onto the practice squad during what has been a strong preseason. However, Wilson suffering an ankle injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s contest could make his climb onto the roster a bit steeper.
