NY Giants LB Carter Coughlin

As the NY Giants continue to look for consistent pass-rush help, Coughlin continues to stand out.

Sunday, Coughlin was downright dominant, especially as a pass-rusher. On third down, Coughlin blitzed up the middle and sacked Keenum.

Coughlin made the start on Sunday afternoon, and in the second quarter did a nice job of making an open-field tackle of Browns tight end Connor Davis, preventing a big play. Earlier, Coughlin blitzed off the edge, forcing Browns quarterback Case Keenum to scramble out of the pocket, leading to an Oshane Ximines sack.

Last week against the Jets, Coughlin forced a fumble.

Meanwhile, as Coughlin flashed, veteran linebacker Devante Downs missed a tackle on one of the first place that he replaced Coughlin on defense.

After two weeks, it would seem Coughlin has played his way off the bubble and perhaps into the conversation for a starting role on the NY Giants’ defense.
