Wide receivers (7)
Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Kadarius Toney, John Ross, C.J. Board, David Sills
It is beginning to appear highly unlikely that the NY Giants will get a look at Golladay before the regular season opener against the Denver Broncos, and Sunday against the Browns Shepard and Slayton were both healthy scratches.
In absence of the top-four wide receivers on the depth chart, C.J. Board made a strong push to make the roster. Already a special teams standout, Booker took an end-around eight yards on the opening play of the game, and stretched out to haul in a pass from Glennon later on.
For the second consecutive week, Sills made a strong case to make the cut. One week after leading the NY Giants in receiving yards against the Jets, Sills caught a touchdown late against the Browns on Sunday afternoon.
Ross might need to get healthy to fight off Pettis, Board, and David Sills for a spot on the roster. Needless to say, the bottom of this position group is among the more competitive spots on the depth chart.
