Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson has slipped down the pegging order in the EDGE competition. The veteran from Alabama hasn’t stayed healthy, he was already cut but re-signed, and he hasn’t played well in the preseason games.

Anderson is still a veteran with pass-rushing chops but he needs to have a very strong week to make the final roster. Anderson needs to stay consistent and take advantage of whatever opportunities he sees this week vs New England.

Ifeadi Odenigbo

Ifeadi Odenigbo has gotten lost in the shuffle of the group during preseason so far.

Odenigbo has been running with primarily the 2nd and 3rd team defenses in practice and preseason. He was a good complementary defender in Minnesota, he can still be that player in New York.

Elerson Smith

Elerson Smith has not practiced all training camp. The Giants rookie from Northern Iowa has dealt with injury issues all summer.

At this point, he seems unlikely to be ready for Week 1. Smith won’t be cut due to waivers and another team snatching him for free. Smith is a prime PUP candidate to start the year and miss the first 6 games or go on short-term IR and miss the first three.
