Running backs (4)

Saquon Barkley, Devontae Booker, Gary Brightwell, Elijaa Penny

Outside looking in Corey Clement

For much of the preseason, Clement was the first back on the field to spell Booker, but that wasn’t the case on Sunday. night.

In what could be a telling clue for how the NY Giants coaching staff feels about the depth players behind Barkley, Brightwell saw several snaps with the first-team offense, after Booker came out of the game, and Clement didn’t take the field until Mike Glennon replaced Daniel Jones in the second half.

Clement has had a strong enough training camp to land on a roster somewhere, but it would seem the NY Giants are leaning towards keeping Brightwell, a player they invested sixth-round draft choice in this spring.
