Safeties (4)

Jabrill Peppers, Xavier McKinney, Logan Ryan, Julian Love

Outside looking in: Chris Johnson

The versatility that Mckinney, Ryan, and Love have to also drop into the slot cornerback when called upon, combined with the fact that Graham frequently plays three-safety sets, makes this one of the more valuable and deepest position groups on the roster.

Specialists (3)

Graham Gano, Riley Dixon, Casey Kreiser

No real surprise here.

Gano’s contract made kicker Ryan Santoso expendable, and Santoso’s strong performance in the Panthers’ exhibition finale on Friday night likely sealed his fate as Carolina’s kicker, and if he’s on the roster for more than two games the NY Giants will receive a seventh-round pick after Wednesday’s trade.
