NY Giants WR: David Sills, John Ross, Matt Cole, C.J. Board

After an offseason of investing significant resources into the position, wide receiver is among the deepest and most talented position groups on the NY Giants’ roster; a far-cry from the likes of Golden Tate, Russell Shepard, and Bennie Fowler, among others, playing key roles.

Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and rookie Kadarius Toney are locks to make the roster and play a vital role. Ross is likely to make the team because of his game-altering speed and ability to contribute on special teams, but a hamstring injury that has limited him for much of the past three weeks could put pressure on him to have a big game against the Patriots just to make the roster.

Meanwhile, Sills has been one of the NY Giants’ most dependable receivers during the first two preseason games, regardless of who was at quarterback.

Cole and Board both have versatility and can be major contributors on special teams, which could lift them above Sills.

This will wind up being one of the more difficult debates the coaching staff has, and will offer a glimpse into the organization’s roster-building philosophy; especially when it comes to valuing special teams contributions.
