Daniel Jones, QB
Jones saw his first preseason action in Week 3. Jones played solid outside of an inexcusable red zone (end zone) interception at the goal line. Can’t have the turnovers, however.
Kaden Smith, TE
Kaden Smith is a useful, underrated player for the NY Giants. Smith reeled in the starting offense’s lone touchdown of the game. He made a nice play deep in the secondary and hauled in a catch in traffic. Smith may have a bigger role than expected with pending injuries to Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph.
Alex Bachman, WR
Alex Bachman may be a victim of the number’s game. Bachman caught his first NFL touchdown this past week. While it’s no small feat, a wide-open drop and more established players at the position may lead Bachman to the practice squad.
B.J. Hill, DL
It’s worth pointing out that B.J. Hill was one of just a handful of players to not play Sunday. Is he headed towards being a shocking cut? Is he going to be traded? Or, was he just banged up come game day?
Corey Clement/Gary Brightwell, RB
Devontae Booker is now a lock to make the team. Brightwell’s receiving abilities may keep Clement off the final roster. Brightwell saw reps before the fifth-year veteran and did well in a limited role. Add in Eli Penny’s running impact, it’s an interesting competition to see shake out.
The Giants should carry multiple receivers on the Practice Squad
Not everyone will make the final roster. The Giants have a plethora of options to choose from at receiver. They should wisely and carefully choose the right guys for the final roster and the same goes for the practice squad.
