Following Evan Engram’s calf injury suffered in Sunday’s preseason loss to the New England Patriots, and it’s accompanying uncertainty, the NY Giants are woefully thin at tight end, especially with Kyle Rudolph still working his way back from a foot injury.

There is certainly familiarity between LaCosse and Judge, who spent one year together in New England in 2019, which combined with the NY Giants’ desperate need at the position could push the 28-year-old up New York’s waiver priority list.

LaCosse opted out of last season, and has been banged up since suffering an injury during joint practices with the Eagles two weeks ago. However, in 2019, he proved to be a reliable target by catching 13 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown, with only two drops.

If the NY Giants are shopping the waiver wire for pass-catching tight ends, LaCosse could be near the top of their list.
