The NY Giants Appear to be stocked well with Linebackers.

The NY Giants should have a better and more consistent time with their linebacking crew in 2021. They upgraded the unit and should have a better presence off the EDGE.

The Giants cut Niko Lalos, Ifeadi Odenigbo, and Ryan Anderson. Lalos flashed and made timely plays last year and seems like a lock for a practice squad spot. Odenigbo never seemed to fit in this defense but will take his $1 million guaranteed home with him for the offseason. Ryan Anderson never performed well enough to turn heads and had no chance after a 6-game suspension to start the season.

The NY Giants instead rolled with guys such as Trent Harris, Oshane Ximines, and Elerson Smith on the team. Harris latched on with the Giants last year and has a huge supporter in Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham. Ximines had a terrific preseason after doubts of him securing a roster spot a few weeks back.

Elerson Smith made the team but is headed to either PUP or IR to start his rookie season. He is not healthy nor ready to play right now and the Giants will not waste a roster spot on him. They were wise to go this route to not risk subjecting him to waivers and losing a Day 2 rookie for nothing.
