NY Giants Roster: Cuts They’ll Regret Making
NY Giants’ Final Roster Final Notes
- The Giants took 7 Cornerbacks on the roster. Adoree’ Jackson’s injury may be a big reason why.
- At cornerback, it’s shocking to say the least that Sam Beal made the team. He seemed like a walking dead man after seeing multiple cornerbacks get drafted, signed, and traded for in the three years since his supplemental draft pick.
This is a PRIME example of NFL teams thinking much differently about NFL players than fans and the media alike. They work with these players behind closed doors 97% of the day; The fans and media are only able to see smaller sample sizes and snippets of what coaches and organizations truly think about the players inside their building. Good for Sam Beal fighting through adversity and impressing enough to stick around.
- Both cornerbacks the NY Giants recently traded for have made the initial team. Keion Crossen and Josh Jackson made the team. It’s nice to see those trades not go to waste.
- The Giants cut Casey Kreiter, their long snapper from 2020. Don’t panic. This was a mere formality of transactions and he is expected to re-sign with the Giants again this week.
- Nate Ebner reportedly visited the Giants today. Joe Judge has repetitively brought him up this offseason. Expect him on the roster soon. This will mean at least one current player on the roster won’t make the team.
- Raymond Johnson on the defensive line is the only rookie undrafted free agent to make the 2021 team. A congratulations is due for the underdog from Georgia Southern. How many people had him on their final rosters? He worked his tail off all offseason to get noticed and deserved to make this team.
