Kadarius Toney finally made it onto the practice field for the first time in what seems like forever for the NY Giants this week.

The media was split on the NY Giants pick or Kadarius Toney.

Some felt it was the perfect fit for the NY Giants, and others felt the team had been other needs. No matter how you feel Toney brings a dynamic play making ability to the team.

Toney has gotten off to a slow start with the NY Giants. He was unavailable for all of the teams preseason games. He has been limited in a lot of the practices. He has battled Covid and a hamstring injury. This week we have seen some video of Toney working with Jones and the other starters and it was a nice thing to see.

The former Florida Gator has the chance to do a lot of things in the NY Giants offense. Aside from Saquon Barkley, Toney has the ability to be the NY Giants most dynamic playmaker.

How Kadarius Toney can make biggest impact for NY Giants as a rookie

One of the biggest critiques of the NY Giants offense last year was a lack of creativity. Under Jason Garrett the offense was slow, boring and repetitive.

Was that because of Garrett or was it because of limitation with personnel ?

It could be a little bit of both. Toney had 70 catches, 10 tds and 984 receiving yards in his last college season. He added in 161 yards and a score rushing the ball. Toney brings the ability to run, catch passes short and turn them into long gains but can also blow pass defenses and catch the long ball.

The NY Giants need Daniel Jones to take a step forward at quarterback this year for the team to be successful. The team still has a suspect offensive line but the weapons are certainly improved. Sterling Shepard will play his usual role, Barkley is back from injury, Toney, Kyle Rudolph and Kenny Golladay were added to the fold. Last year Evan Engram and Darius Slayton regressed and made a lot of mistakes so the team will look for them to bounce back as well.

Toney feels like an X factor for this NY Giants offense. We haven’t seen him on the field all that much this summer so we don’t know what to expect. The Giants hope he has gotten in enough work with Daniel Jones. Toney feels like a guy who can cause chaos for opposing defenses if all goes right in his rookie year.
