Ahead of the 2021 NFL season opener, the NY Giants named seven captains this week, including quarterback Daniel Jones
The 2021 captains for the NY Giants have been chosen they are led by quarterback Daniel Jones, and running back Saquan Barkley.
No surprise in the quarterback and star running back named.
Here are the rest of the NY Giants’ captains for the 2021 season
Logan Ryan
Ryan came to the Giants late in the offseason last year and made an immediate impact on the team. You can right from the start he is born leader. Letting his play do the talking most times, Ryan is not afraid to get his teammates fired up with his words.
Nick Gates
Gates stepped into the center position last year after never playing that position in his career. he arguably was the Giants best offensive lineman last year. Tough and gritty, it is well deserved.
Blake Martinez
A prized free agent signing, Martinez is the leader of that defense. He plays every play to the fullest and is extremely well respected by the entire team, including the coaching staff. This was probably an easy choice for the players and coaches.
Jabrill Peppers
Maybe the most outspoken of the bunch, Peppers leads on the field like those above him. He is not however afraid to speak his mind and motivate that way. Between him and Ryan the Giants have two defensive maestros in the defensive backfield.
Graham Gano
Gano joined the Giants with Ryan last year and became a Pro Bowl Kicker for the team. He stepped right in and set the special teams on his shoulders.
Barkley becomes a captain for the third time. Jones, Martinez, and Peppers a second time; with Gano, Gates, and Ryan their first year.
