GMEN HQ: Question #4: What are your overall thoughts on the trade?

Stripe Hype:

I’m a fan of this trade for both teams. The Bengals might have been seeing improvement from Price this preseason but the first-round “bust” label was definitely attached to the guy, especially since he wasn’t starting. They’ll use B.J. Hill far more than they would have used Price. It sounds like Hill was buried on the Giants depth chart so this gives him a chance to flourish. Both guys can definitely benefit from a change of scenery.

GMEN HQ:

This was an interesting, yet unexpected trade. Hill was seen as a roster lock for the 2021 NY Giants. He didn’t play in the last preseason, which was telling because he was healthy and the only healthy player to not play. Hill was not going to have a significant role this year barring injury to two players in front of him.

Billy Price does have a chance of making a bigger impact this year than Hill. Price could start down the line and work his way into the rotation and lineup at guard or center. The Giants have few options at either position and they will take all the help they can get.
