NY Giants DB – Logan Ryan

Ryan, named a captain this week ahead of his second season with the Giants, was pivotal to the secondary’s success in 2020 and could face a daunting task in his first game of the 2021 campaign.

The Broncos’ vertical passing game has the chance to test most secondaries, even the NY Giants’ which is among the league’s deepest.

In addition to Courtland Sutton, who caught 72 passes for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns during his most recent healthy season in 2019, and Jerry Jeudy who caught 52 passes for 856 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, Ryan and the Giants will need to worry about K.J. Hamler out of the slot.

Hamler has game-breaking speed, and averaged 12.7 yards per reception last season.

The NY Giants boast one of the better perimeter cornerback duos in the league. Likewise, Ryan’s deep coverage allows Jabrill Peppers to freelance up near the line of scrimmage both as a pass-rusher and against the run. But, New York needs a big game from Ryan keeping Denver’s weapons from beating them over the top on Sunday.
