NY Giants bold prediction #4: Rookies make a massive impact on defense

Azeez Ojulari may have an edge in the rookie EDGE race in 2020. PFF loves his pass-rushing abilities, and as Matt Lombardo points out, there may be a pathway to success this season:

"Ojulari has a major opportunity, amid an NY Giants’ pass-rush that lacks a proven dominant edge presence, and question marks surrounding Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines coming off significant injuries suffered last season."

Elsewhere, Rodarius Williams could be carving out a role with the team after a strong preseason. Perhaps rolling into the season with the most momentum of any rookie, Williams and Ojulari–and Aaron Robinson if his murky bill of health ever clears up–could lead the next generation of Big Blue bruisers under Patrick Graham.

NY Giants bold prediction #5: NFC East crown returns to East Rutherford

What’s bolder than this?

It’s been a bit since the NY Giants were postseason-bound, and it wasn’t under Daniel Jones the last time that happened.

So why here and now? Well, the defense has always been the backbone of any recent NY Giants run to the Lombardi Trophy. That should remain a key component of success in 2021.

But we’re betting on Saquon Barkley, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, and Kadarius Toney all doing enough spectacular things due to Jones managing all of this talent to winning a weak division.
