3 Bold predictions for NY Giants vs. Broncos: Von Miller gets 3 sacks?
Bold prediction NO. 2: Sterling Shepard leads NY Giants in receiving yards
This summer has not gone as planned for many of the NY Giants’ offensive weapons.
Kenny Golladay missed much of training camp due to a hamstring injury suffered during the first practice in pads. First-round rookie receiver Kadarius Toney didn’t play a snap in the preseason. Tight end Evan Engram suffered a calf injury in the preseason finale against the Patriots.
However, Sterling Shepard remains among Daniel Jones’ favorite targets, and most productive weapons in the passing game.
Sunday, against the NFL’s fifth-ranked passing defense last season, look for Shepard to be a focal point of the game plan, as the rest of Jones’ weapons get up to speed.
NY Giants quarterbacks had a 102.3 passer rating, when targeting Shepard last season, so don’t be surprised if he sees a significant workload in the opener.
