NY Giants offensive line catches big break, Broncos’ Bradley Chubb OUT
Denver Broncos star linebacker Bradley Chubb will be OUT for Week 1 against the NY Giants, due to an ankle injury
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The NY Giants’ offensive line caught a major break ahead of Sunday’s NFL season opener, as Denver Broncos star linebacker Bradley Chubb is OUT for Week 1.
Mike Klis, of 9News in Denver first reported that Chubb would miss Sunday’s game, due to an ankle injury that has nagged him all week leading up to the game.
The Giants‘ offensive line will still need to figure out how to contain Von Miller, in his debut after missing all of last season with an ankle injury of his own, but not having to worry about Chubb on the opposite edge is certainly a positive development for New York.
Chubb will likely be replaced by Broncos linebacker Jonathan Cooper, who was chosen by Denver in the seventh-round of this spring’s NFL Draft.
Somewhat surprisingly, the NY Giants expect to start Nate Solder at right tackle, rather than second-year offensive lineman Matt Peart.
Miller returns to the Broncos’ front-seven, after producing eight sacks and 59 total tackles during the 2019 NFL season.
The NY Giants and Broncos kickoff at 4:25 p.m. at MetLife Stadium.
