NY Giants’ Azeez Ojulari sacks Taylor Heinicke, looks like difference-maker
Through his first two games, rookie Azeez Ojulari is already making a significant impact on the NY Giants defense
Two weeks, two sacks for NY Giants second-round rookie edge rusher Azeez Ojulari.
Thursday night, in a huge spot on the Washington Football Team’s first possession of the game, Ojulari broke loose on 3rd down and 3, sacking quarterback Taylor Heinicke.
Ojulari’s sack brought Washington’s opening drive to a screeching halt.

Daniel Jones capped the NY Giants’ ensuing possession with a touchdown run, to give New York an early 7-0 lead, with 8:21 remaining in the first quarter.
Chosen by the NY Giants with the No. 50 overall pick in the NFL Draft, Ojulari was hailed as one of the premier edge rushers and best value selections in the class. The University of Georgia alum is already starting to look like a difference-maker on a defense in desperate need of them.
Pro Football Focus credits Ojulari with three quarterback pressures, in addition to his first sack, in his debut last week. Against the Broncos, Ojulari only played on 13 pass-rushing snaps, which underscores the impact he’s already having on Patrick Graham’s NY Giants defense.
