NY Giants: CB Adoree’ Jackson must put-it-together

It’s the whole secondary, quite frankly, that needs to get better.

But it should be said that newcomer Adoree’ Jackson was supposed to complement the dynamic duo of cornerback James Bradberry and safety Logan Ryan in the secondary, and build upon each of their stellar 2020 seasons.

However, for all the hype garnered from Ryan’s exemplary sales job to get former-teammate Jackson onboard with the Giants rebuild to join a formidable secondary, there has been no significant jump in production.

That was the hope: a no fly-zone defense that has not materialized through the first two games.

In fact, they’ve seemed to regress in the early goings of this season. So far this season, the Giants secondary has allowed 6 passes of 20+ yards and a deep ball that went for 40 yards.

After a 2020 season cut short due to a knee injury. Jackson entered Week 1 with a low-ankle sprain that may be the reason for the lack of explosiveness in the secondary.

8 total tackles and two passes defended are what he has to show for his efforts in the Giants back-to-back losses. He needs to start making game-changing plays – interceptions, tight coverage, and work in tandem with CB1 James Bradberry and Safety Logan Ryan.
