NY Giants roster: stock watch entering Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons
C Billy Price: Falling
Price was forced into action for the first time since being acquired in a preseason trade by the Giants, when Nick Gates suffered a gruesome leg fracture last Thursday night, and it didn’t go well.
Granted, there are few opponents that would have made tougher debuts than the swarming Washington Football Team front-seven, but Price is going to need to play dramatically better if the Giants’ offensive line is going to hold up.
Last week, Price allowed one sack and five pressures in 43 pass-blocking snaps against the Washington Football Team. Pro Football Focus gives Price a 28.1 overall grade and an 8.7 pass-protection mark.
Not ideal.
If Price is forced to play center for an extended period, meaning the NY Giants’ don’t land a better option to replace Gates, and Price doesn’t dramatically improve, this line could struggle mightily.
