Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and the winless NY Giants aim for their first victory of the 2021 NFL Season against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons Sunday

The more things change, the more they seem to stay the same for the NY Giants.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Giants open the 2021 NFL Season 0-2, but the fellow winless Atlanta Falcons arrive Sunday afternoon, representing a chance for New York to try to build some momentum on offense and turn the tide on defense.

After making it through the first two games sans an interception, Daniel Jones looks to build on his performance through the first two weeks, entering Sunday as the NFL’s 15th-leading passer.

Will this be the week that Saquon Barkley breaks out? Does the NY Giants’ defense have any answer for Calvin Ridley, who enters with 12 receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown?

Here are three bold predictions for Sunday’s NY Giants vs. Falcons NFL Week 3 game:

1) Saquon Barkley rushes for 100 yards, scores a touchdown

Barkley seems to be heating up, and starting to hit his stride.

Last Thursday night, against the Washington Football Team, Barkley broke loose for a 35-yard gain down the sideline, and looked like his explosive self. It was the first time since tearing his ACL in Week 2 of the 2020 campaign that Barkley showed the burst and breakaway speed that helped him produce 2,028 yards from scrimmage as a rookie.

The Falcons arrive in East Rutherford dragging along the NFL’s No. 24 ranked rushing defense, and are allowing 127.5 yards rushing per game, through this season’s first two weeks.

This feels like the perfect slump-buster for Barkley, to perhaps eclipse the century mark for the first time since December, 22, 2019, and find pay dirt, as well.
