The NY Giants are again 0-2 and are in desperate need of a victory, Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

The NY Giants are facing a must-win scenario in Week 3. They need to beat the Atlanta Falcons for so many reasons none more important than to pick up their win of the season, move on from the first two weeks, and avoid falling out of place in the NFC standings.

The Giants lost in ugly fashion in Week 1 to the Broncos. They played much better offensively in Week 2 against Washington, but they lost a heartbreaker in classic Giants’ painful fashion that felt all too familiar from the recent past.

The NY Giants are looking at a very winnable game against a fellow struggling NFC team trying to establish their own identity. The Falcons are 0-2 with two losses against Philadelphia and the Super Bowl-winning Buccanneers. The Falcons lost Julio Jones this offseason, but they still have Matt Ryan, Calvin Ridley, and new toys such as Kyle Pitts to work with on offense.

The Giants are favored in this game for the first time all season.

New York returns home after their Week 2 loss in the nation’s capital where they will be celebrating a special day for one of the most successful and legendary figures in NY Giants’ franchise history. The team is retiring Eli Manning’s #10 jersey along with inducting him into the team’s Ring of Honor.

It will be a special day for Eli and the fans alike to acknowledge, commemorate, and appreciate the career of the longest-tenured and most successful player in team history. The Giants need to win this game, plain and simple. If they start 0-3, they are likely doomed to compete anytime soon again this season. The Falcons have looked like one of the league’s less talented teams and the Giants need to exploit them.

Here’s an under-the-radar player to watch out for in Week 3 for the NY Giants
