Daniel Jones’ Best Throw of the Day

Jones’ best moment came early in the contest in Week 3.

The NY Giants started the game off with a quick start on defense. They got the ball back in five plays and just 2:46 of the game clock. New York came right out and started strong right out of the gate. A 14-yard completion to Saquon Barkley led the drive first before Jones slung one deep on 3rd down.

On 3rd and 4 at the NY Giants’ 40-yard line, Jones uncorked a beautiful deep pass downfield. Jones found C.J. Board on the right sidelines and hit him in stride for a gorgeous over-the-top connection for 38 yards. The play brought New York to the Falcons’ 22-yard line and instantly was in strike of scoring range.

Jones displayed nice touch, patience, confidence, and ball placement to hit Board running full speed right in the numbers for a textbook back-shoulder fade route. The NY Giants need more big plays in their lifeless offense. There are few easier ways to do that than by being aggressive and throwing the ball downfield.

The Giants curiously are ignoring conventional wisdom yet again. This is now the second time in three weeks the NY Giants have connected on a 35-yard+ deep throw that has been completed. To make matters worse, the Giants inauspiciously never once took another deep shot 20 yards downfield let alone 35+ yards. It’s a frustrating development for the offense, the team, and Jones alike as they haven’t been able to hit their full potential.
