Taysom Hill breaks about 100 tackles on touchdown run over NY Giants
The NY Giants’ defense was no match for Taysom Hill on a second-half touchdown run by the New Orleans Saints’ Swiss Army knife
Taysom Hill ran over the NY Giants en route to the end zone.
Quite literally.
On the New Orleans Saints’ first possession of the third quarter on Sunday afternoon, Hill took a shotgun snap and bulldozed his way off right guard, spinning and lowering his shoulder through st least seven broken tackles by the NY Giants’ front-seven.
Shoddy tackling had been a hallmark of the NY Giants’ defense in recent seasons, but Sunday afternoon’s effort against Hill may have been a new low.
Linebacker Tae Crowder had Hill bounce off him. Eventually, Hill dragged Adoree’ Jackson, James Bradberry and Logan Ryan into the end zone to give the Saints a 14-7 lead.
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has done a nice job in recent years finding a package of plays for Hill to make an impact as a runner, and Hill’s touchdown run will certainly be one that is talked about for some time.
Hill’s touchdown run was set up by Jameis Winston hitting Marquez Callaway for a 58-yard gain, earlier in the possession, prior to Hill being run out onto the field inside the red-zone.
