Zero

A large concern for this team entering the season was the offensive line. On Sunday, Gettleman’s five “hog mollies” allowed zero sacks to a Saints defense that had six through their first three games.

Additionally, the NY Giants ran for 4.2 yards per carry against a Saints defense that had allowed just 2.8 yards per carry to teams that had the likes of Aaron Jones, Christian McCaffrey and Damien Harris.

What’s gone most unnoticed through the Giants’ first four games is the improvement of 2020 1st round pick Andrew Thomas, who kept six-time Pro Bowler and 2017 1st Team All Pro Cameron Jordan from getting to Daniel Jones on all but one play.

The line hasn’t been phenomenal by most metrics, but they don’t have to be and no one should genuinely expect that out of them. This is still a unit that has a backup center, a third string left guard and an overpaid, aging right tackle.

However, if the line can do just enough to keep Jones upright, he’s proved he can make the strides to become the franchise quarterback the Giants want him to be with the weapons they put around him.
