NY Giants offensive tackle Andrew Thomas is in the midst of the best stretch of football he’s played, since being chosen No. 4 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft

Andrew Thomas is turning a corner.

Thomas, the NY Giants’ selection with the No. 4 overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft, is improving each week and coming off the most dominant performance of his second season on Sunday afternoon.

In the NY Giants’ 27-21 comeback overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints, Thomas was one of New York’s highest-graded players, finishing the game with a 79.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus.

"“He’s played great, (there’s) no secret about it,” NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones told reporters this week. “When you turn on the tape, he’s shut down pass rushers and whoever’s he’s gone up against, he’s played really well – so big credit to him. It’s huge. It’s the ultimate team game and that’s an important position, and he’s played well.”"

During a season in which chaos and changes have defined the NY Giants’ offensive line, Thomas has been a steadying force.

Sunday afternoon, Thomas helped pave the way for running back Saquon Barkley to rush for

Through the first four weeks, the Giants have started four different offensive line combinations. Matt Peart and Nate Solder have rotated at right tackle. But, Thomas has yet to allow a sack and surrendered only six pressures so far.

Despite early criticism for selecting Thomas, in part because of fellow tackles Tristan Wirfs, Jedric Wills, and Mekhi Becton, the NY Giants have to be thrilled with his rapid improvement through the first quarter of this season.

Sunday, Thomas will face a daunting task against Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys’ swarming front-seven. But, if he can hold up, and help Keep Daniel Jones up in the pocket and create some running lanes for Saquon Barkley, the NY Giants have the horses to keep up with the Cowboys and perhaps pull off a second consecutive upset.
