The NY Giants looked to make it two wins in a row this season after the impressive win in New Orleans last week but things didn’t go as planned.

Instead of back to back wins for the NY Giants, it was another blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

The story of the game wasn’t even the loss it was the injuries.

The NY Giants came into the week with left tackle Andrew Thomas questionable thanks to a foot injury. Thomas was active but didn’t play at all. Nate Solder stepped in but did not step up as he had a tough day. Thomas has been the NY Giants best offensive lineman. The team will hope he’s healthy going forward with the likes of the Rams, Buccaneers and Chiefs on the upcoming schedule.

Of course the two biggest injuries were to Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones. The two NY Giants most responsible for last weeks wins were down in agony this Sunday. Jones left the game with a concussion after taking a big hit on a scramble. Jones stumbled and needed to be helped off the field after taking the big hit. Jones will enter concussion protocol.

Barkley stepped on a defenders leg in an accidental collision and went down with a ankle injury. The NY Giants star had major swelling and was carted off the field. Barkley is the NY Giants biggest long term concern especially with his injury history. Barkley left the stadium with crutches in a boot but the hope is he is week to week and avoided major injury. The injury appears to be a lower ankle sprain. Barkley will likely have more X-rays and continue to get his ankle checked on.

Kenny Golladay was also injured for the NY Giants on Sunday. He hyperextend his left knee. While it’s not believed to be a serious injury at this time it’s a concern because Golladay has battled injuries all season since preseason. Kadarius  Toney left the game a few times to get his foot checked on but appeared fine as he went off for 10 catches and 189 yards.

It appears none of these injuries are season ending or even long for the NY Giants but at 1-4 they can’t avoid them at all. The NY Giants had been seeing Daniel Jones play his best football and this is a setback for him. Barkley finally was back to himself and Golladay finally seemed comfortable in the offense.
