The Dallas Cowboys are seemingly runaway favorites to run away with the NFC East Division championship, after blowing out the NY Giants Sunday afternoon

The NY Giants were dismantled, and battered by the Dallas Cowboys in a 44-20 shellacking Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas, that could carry monumental weight in the NFC East race.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones only had 98 yards, because he was knocked from game early with a concussion. Backup quarterback Mike Glennon was 16-25, 196 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Meanwhile, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had another stellar performance, in what has become an MVP caliber season. Prescott was 22-32, 302 yards with three touchdowns to one interception.

Here’s how the NFC East standings look, following the NY Giants’ loss to the Cowboys:

Dallas Cowboys: 4-1

Washington Football Team: 2-3

Philadelphia Eagles: 2-3

New York Giants: 1-4

The NY Giants are only one game behind Philadelphia;phia and Washington, but their schedule is only going to get harder.

Some of the teams New York still has to play in the upcoming weeks are the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The opponents playing the Eagles and Washington aren’t as difficult.

The Cowboys are two games ahead of Philly and Washington but they will probably be the team that wins the division. The team has been scoring so many points in these first five games and their defense is looking bright.

In this weekend’s game against the Cowboys, New lost many key players due to injuries including Daniel Jones (concussion), Saquon Barkley (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), plus other key players who haven’t played including Sterling Shepard (hamstring), Darius Slayton (hamstring), Andrew Thomas (foot), Nick Gates (leg), Shane Lemieux (knee), and Blake Martinez (knee).

It’s only going to get worse for New York if they keep losing.

Dallas is looking scary in a good way, and Philadelphia and Washington are simply better than the Giants.

If the Giants want any chance of winning this division they need to simply get better, but Week 5 is now over so they need to step it up now. They’re 1-4 which is not what they want to be.
