The NY Giants are off to one of the worst starts of any team across the NFL, and now must battle through injuries and a brutal stretch of the schedule

Through five weeks of NFL action, it appears as though it’s the same old situation for the NY Giants.

Injuries are once again taking out key weapons and the Giants are losing close games that could go either way.

The NY Giants experience, if you will.

Last year, the NY Giants started off 0-5 before winning six of their final 11 games and closing out the season with a chance to make the postseason on the final day.

Thanks, Philly.

This year, it will take a similarly strong rally to convince the front office that all of the blockbuster moves from this past offseason weren’t made in vein.

By nature of the NFC East being the weakest division in either conference–though the AFC South is certainly in the running–the NY Giants are not out of the postseason picture just yet even after a bleak start.

With that said, GMENHQ is here to rank the NFC East every week, including where the NY Giants stand, beginning with a post-Week 5 Power Rankings:

NFC East’s #1 team: Dallas Cowboys

By nature of being the only team in the NFC East with a winning record, the Dallas Cowboys get the de facto #1 spot this week.

This after a 44-20 beatdown of the NY Giants that literally left Big Blue bruised and battered. Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and Kenny Golladay, who are probably the three offensive players that have the most say on how far New York will go this season, were all knocked out by Dallas this past Sunday.

The Giants win was the second blowout triumph against a divisional rival for the Cowboys after a 20-point Week 3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Those are coupled with wins over promising young teams (Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers) and a two-point loss to the defending Super Bowl Champions on the road.

Dallas looks capable of doing big things in 2021 with the return of Dak Prescott to the field after missing most of last season with an ACL tear. If the snake doesn’t bite this cursed franchise like it has for the better part of the last 25 years, the Cowboys may be a sneaky SBLVI pick.
