No. 3: Matthew Stafford

With Matthew Stafford looking like an elite QB as usual the NY Giants are going to have a tough time stopping him.

Stafford on the season has 1,587 passing yards, 12 TD’s and 3 interceptions. He is also leading the league in yards per completion, QBR, and sack percentage.

The best chance the Giants have to overcome Stafford is to limit his deep pass game. Stafford is leading the league in yards per completion at 13.6. In order for the Giants to have a chance we need to try to limit his deep threats.

The only problem with that is the Rams have such an explosive offense that it will be nearly impossible to do that. Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and DeSean Jackson make for a deadly trio that the Giants are going to have problems dealing with.

Another way the NY Giants can attempt to slow down Stafford is by pressuring him. However, with the combination of a great Rams offensive line and a bad Giants pass rush this will be very difficult.

The Rams have quite possibly the best offensive line in football. Ranking dead last in sacks allowed, pressures allowed, and 31st in QB hurries.

To contrast, the NY Giants pass rush ranks 31st in sacks, 30th in pressures, and 21st in QB hurries.

If the NY Giants can somehow manage to put pressure on Stafford that would be huge for their chances to win.
