The NY Giants are a banged up bunch entering Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, but aim to pull off a second upset in the last three weeks

Two weeks ago in New Orleans, the NY Giants pulled off the improbable by upsetting the Saints in their return to the Caesars SuperDome, but this Sunday afternoon against Matthew Stafford, Darrell Henderson and the Los Angeles Rams, pulling off a second upset in three weeks is seemingly a Herculean task.

Not only do head coach Sean McVay’s Rams boast a more talented roster from top-to-bottom, but arrive into East Rutherford with extra rest, after dispelling the division rival Seattle Seahawks on the road last Thursday night.

Daniel Jones’ availability is uncertain, but the Giants will be without wide receiver Kenny Golladay and running back Saquon Barkley, against a Rams offense that might require the scoreboard operator earning hazard pay to keep pace.

If Jones can’t go, the task of leading the NY Giants offense will once again fall on backup Mike Glennon’s shoulders, as it did for two-plus quarters last Sunday after Jones was knocked out of the game with a concussion against the Cowboys.

So, how will Sunday’s NY Giants vs. Rams game play out?

Here are three bold predictions for NY Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams:

1) Rams QB Matthew Stafford sets new career-high passing mark vs. NY Giants’ defense

The NY Giants’ defense has struggled in almost all aspects through the first quarter of the season, but nowhere more so than against the pass.

Through the first five games, the NY Giants are allowing 270 yards and a pair of touchdowns per game … Against the likes of Teddy Bridgewater, Taylor Heinicke, and Matt Ryan’s Atlanta Falcons, among others. Last Sunday, Dallas Cowboys Cowboys MVP candidate Dak Prescott went off for 302 yards with three touchdowns to one interception.

Stafford has been playing at a significantly higher level, even than Prescott, so far.

In 2012, Stafford passed for 520 yards in a loss to the Green Bay Packers. Given the NY Giants’ inability to pressure the passer so far, and struggles in the secondary, there’s a chance that personal record could fall on Sunday afternoon.
