Daniel Jones’ Best Drive of the Day

The only real positives to take away from Jones’ performance in Week 6 was the game’s opening drive.

Jones was hit and never saw on it on the drive’s first snap and fumbled it as he was drilled to the ground. Thankfully, Will Hernandez was there to fall on it and recover the football. Jones worked his way through a 3rd and 14 with a perfect strike to Kadarius Toney on the right sidelines.

Jones moved the NY Giants’ offense down the field and then found Toney again for 16 yards to set the Giants up in scoring range at the Rams’ 22-yard line.

That would be Toney’s last snap as he re-injured his ankle on the play, which became a harbinger for the rest of the way for the Giants.

Jones would pick up another 3rd down via a QB sneak of his own to move the chains. The drive ended at the Rams’ 8-yard line after a drop right through Shepard’s hands. Overall, it was a 14-play, 73-yard drive in 5 minutes and 40 seconds that looked like a promising start for the game. Of course, it was all downhill from there and didn’t matter, but Jones hit nine different receivers throughout the game nonetheless.
