The NY Giants hit what appears to be rock bottom, a 38-11 loss to the Rams Sunday, in which the game wasn’t nearly was competitive as even the lopsided score suggests

With a 1-5 start to the season the NY Giants are seemingly looking at another lost season.

However, there are some moves they can make to help save New York’s season.

Whether its bolstering the Giants‘ linebacker core, fixing weaknesses along the offensive line, or something more drastic. The season is not completely over. Yet.

There is a good chance that the NY Giants tear things down and begin a rebuild from scratch if this team continues to amass losses.

However, if New York decides to continue to build up their hopes of winning these are some of the moves they need to make.

Here are 3 changes the NY Giants need to make in order to save their season:

Number 1: Fix the offensive line issues through free agency

After this week’s loss against to Rams it became abundantly clear that the NY Giants offensive line is still a massive problem. Surrendering 4 sacks and 7 QB hits, the line looked borderline unplayable.

The line is currently going through injury problems, but the Giants need to find replacements for those who are hurt or are simply not cutting it.

Here are some lineman the NY Giants should consider signing:

Forrest Lamp:

In 2020 Forrest Lamp played the most snaps in the NFL among guards at 1,174. In these snaps he only gave up 2 sacks. Not bad.

Lamp is only 27 and can provide valuable snaps at either guard spot.

With injuries to Ben Bredeson, alongside poor play from Matt Skura and Wes Martin, the Giants need to do something about their guard position.

Sign Kelechi Osemele:

This one is a little less likely.

Osemele is 32 years old and coming off of a pretty bad knee injury in which he had torn tendons in each knee.

In five games played in 2020, Osemele didn’t allow a single sack. While this obviously is not a sustainable amount of games to judge off  of, it is still something.

I believe that if Osemele is healthy and good to play he will be better than any of the guards we are currently playing.

Call up Isaiah Wilson to the active roster:

After back to back atrocious games from Nate Solder, combined with an injury to Andrew Thomas. The Giants need to attempt to fix the problem at their tackle spots.

The move that makes the most sense to me is calling up troubled first round pick Isaiah Wilson from the practice squad.

Wilson was drafted 29th overall by the Titans in the 2020 NFL draft. However, after several off the field issues, he was traded and released.

The Giants added Wilson to their practice squad on September 29th. They have yet to play him in a regular season game.

With injuries and poor play becoming a common theme with the tackle position, it only makes sense that the Giants call Wilson up soon.
