NFC East’s #4 team: NY Giants

When it comes to success (or a lack thereof) in the NFL, the credit (or blame) usually sits with the quarterback.

You can’t blame Daniel Jones for the season the NY Giants are having in 2021. Not totally. The OL never has him adequately protected, often forcing him to scramble and improvise. His receivers have been dealing with injury woes, as has starting RB Saquon Barkley.

But even this past week, Jones was part of the problem. In fact, fellow GMENHQ writer Danny Friedman graded his effort against the Rams this past Sunday a D-:

"Daniel Jones had his worst game of the season this week. Three interceptions, a lost fumble, and many errant throws reminded the NY Giants of what Jones is on his worst days. Although he got little to no help, Jones has to play better for this offense and the entire team. Jones was unable to overcome the obstacles thrown his way in Week 6. He has legitimate excuses for some struggles, but nobody will ever accept four turnovers in one game."

The NY Giants are flat out tough to watch these days, and there is no immediate fix on the horizon. Buckle up, Giants fans, the rest of the 2021 season could be just as bumpy as the first third.
