NY Giants safety Jabrill Peppers suffered both ankle and knee injuries in Sunday’s win over the Carolina Panthers
Jabrill Peppers is dealing with both ankle and knee injuries, the NY Giants revealed Monday.
Peppers, who was knocked from the second half of Sunday’s win over the Carolina Panthers, after grabbing his knee but later being announced as “out” with an ankle injury, is seeing a doctor to be evaluated, according to head coach Joe Judge.
Prior to Sunday, it would seem that Peppers was a prime candidate to potentially be traded, ahead of the NFL’s Nov. 2 trade deadline. However, if Peppers is forced to miss significant time, during this final year of his contract, it would certainly complicate any potential trade talks.
Peppers has seen his role dramatically diminished this season, playing in just 58 percent of the Giants‘ defensive snaps.
Sunday, the NY Giants had Peppers back returning punts, in addition to his role as the third-safety on defense.
Peppers was injured on a second-half punt return on Sunday afternoon.
Through the first seven games of the season, Peppers has produced 30 total tackles and one sack.
