The NY Giants toppled the Carolina Panthers Sunday, climbing up the NFC East power rankings, in the process

There was more than just a sliver of hope displayed by the NY Giants this past Sunday, with New York beating down the Carolina Panthers for their second win of the 2021 season.

As difficult as this season has been to watch for Giants faithful, Sunday was easily the team’s best win of the season.

Ceding just three points to the Panthers — who admittedly were missing star running back Christian McCaffery — marked the first time New York has given up less than three scores in a single game this season. They’ve still given up the seventh highest point total of the NFL’s 32 franchises, underscoring just how underwhelming they’ve been on both sides of the ball, but positive steps are positive steps no matter the context.

Currently, three and a half games up on the next best record in the NFC East, Dallas is in control by way of only losing once this year, and to the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers–who are themselves sitting at 6-1 this season–to boot.

Dominant wins over both the NY Giants and Philadelphia Eagles solidify the Cowboys’ lofty spot at the top of the NFC East. The next team in the standings still has a long way to go to catch them…
