NY Giants head coach Joe Judge:

Joe Judge may not have a job after this season and this game did not help his case.

Judge has proven that he simply does not know when and when not to use his timeouts and it cost the NY Giants big time this week.

With Judge blowing 2 out of his 3 timeouts in the second half before the Chiefs were even in scoring position it seemed as if the Giants were doomed to fail when they got the ball back with 1:07 left on the clock with no timeouts.

Another poor judgment call occurred when the Chiefs were running the clock out in the red zone. The clock was running with 2:40 remaining and instead of calling a timeout to conserve time Judge instead held back and let the clock run to the 2-minute warning.

After the game Judge put the blame on his usage of timeouts on issues with his headset. This is not something I believe as this is the first time we have ever heard of this issue. Alongside the fact that the Giants are seemingly the only team with these issues.

Judge’s inability to make critical clock management decisions with his timeouts has cost the team heavily this season and it continued this game. If he does not fix these mistakes he will almost surely be fired after this season.

Another issue that can be pinned on Judge is how undisciplined the players are.

Judge isn’t the only person to blame, he needs to take some blame for it. He came into the league as a head coach who believed in having a disciplined team, and so far that has not been the case at all.

The NY Giants ended the game with 10 penalties that ended up costing them 88 yards. This included the previously mentioned offsides by Oshane Ximines, a taunting call from Elijah Penny after a huge play in the 4th quarter, and an unnecessary roughness penalty from Tae Crowder on a drive where the Chiefs tied the game up with a field goal.

If Judge wants to live up to his idea of a disciplined team he simply needs to help the players do a better job.
