Monday night, the NY Giants had a chance to upset the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth quarter, but instead fell to 2-6 on the season with more questions than answers

The NY Giants’ season is quickly slipping away.

Amidst another 2-6 start to the season things are not going quite as the NY Giants planned.

With myriad injuries, poor coaching, and poor play, the Giants are not meeting the small number of expectations they had for this season.

Here are the 3 biggest reasons why the NY Giants have not been very successful this season:

NY Giants GM Dave Gettleman:

NY Giants GM Dave Gettleman has failed at his job in a way that not many people thought to be possible.

Making poor decision after poor decision, Gettleman has cost the Giants heavily.

Whether it be through neglecting the obvious issues with the offensive line, making poor trades, etc. Gettleman has simply failed this team.

What is likely Gettleman’s biggest failure has been his inability to put together an even starting-caliber offensive line.

Gettleman has been saying since he became the GM of the NY Giants that he would do all he can to fix the offensive line. He has failed at doing this at an incomprehensible level.

Nate Solder is currently one of the worst contracts in the NFL, and any trade/draft pick he has used for an offensive lineman has failed outside of Andrew Thomas, Nick Gates, and Will Hernandez.

However, due to Gettleman’s spending spree the last two seasons, the NY Giants will likely not have the cap space to bring Hernandez back after this season when his contract expires.

To sum it up, In four years of being the NY Giants’ GM, Gettleman has only managed to get the Giants one great tackle in Andrew Thomas, a good center in Nick Gates, and an inconsistent but solid guard in Hernandez who will most likely not be with the team after this year. Embarrassing.

Gettleman’s inability to take aim and fix this issue has led to the downfall of the NY Giants. With another losing season seemingly on the horizon, it seems as if Gettleman will no longer be the GM of the NY Giants after this off-season. At least I hope so.
