The NY Giants could use this time off to get healthy and re-evaluate their offense.

The NY Giants are headed into the bye week on a high note.

For the first time in over three years, the Giants are better than 2-6 or 2-7 heading into Week 10.

The NY Giants are 3-3 since starting 0-3.

New York has dealt with nonstop injuries on both sides of the ball; from Blake Martinez, Jabrill Peppers, and others on defense to seemingly every starter on the offense.

The NY Giants have lost three starting offensive linemen for the season, they started a different lineman for over five consecutive games, and it’s been a rotating door at wide receiver.

Expensive free-agent acquisition Kenny Golladay, the returning leader in Sterling Shepard, the first-round draft choice in Toney, and the intriguing trade piece in Darius Slayton, all have missed multiple games and/or left games early due to injury.

Evan Engram also missed time to start the season, Kyle Rudolph slowly worked his way back from ankle surgery and Saquon Barkley rushed his way back from his torn ACL. Saquon has since missed four games since practically missing the entirety of a 5th in the game at Dallas where he got unfortunately hurt. Daniel Jones missed most of the Dallas game with a concussion too which he beat to play the following week but was a concerning development nonetheless.

All put together, the NY Giants offense has barely had any time with its full arsenal together at once healthy, involved in the gameplan, and efficiently used all at once.

Daniel Jones, NY Giants may finally get all their weapons back after the bye

The bye week is now coming at the ideal time for New York. They can get everyone healthy from Barkley and Shepard back onto the field, to Golladay, Slayton, and Toney closer to full strength.

The NY Giants’ offense has had issues all year in every offensive category imaginable. They just haven’t been able to do any of the things they want to or stay on schedule by avoiding negative plays. The Giants can use the time off to look at what’s gone wrong, where they can improve, and how they can adjust this offense.

The personnel, if healthy, is in place for this offense to succeed and maybe even put up some points.

It all starts with protecting Jones up front, and creating holes for Barkley and Booker (something the line did well this week), the Giants offense can move the chains. Lastly, the Giants need to fix their broken red zone offense. From playcalling to execution, to formation and personnel usage, everything needs to be better.

The NY Giants have been in nearly every game this season apart from the blowout courtesy of the Rams. The bye week is coming at the right time for the Giants as they prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in two weeks.
