NFC East’s #3 team: Philadelphia Eagles

And then there were the Philadelphia Eagles, squawking and squandering away their own momentum from a 44-6 beatdown of the Detroit Lions by losing late to the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday.

Jalen Hurts continues to be the one consistent offensive threat, amassing 264 all-purpose yards and a touchdown toss to fellow Alabama Crimson Tide alum DeVonta Smith, who had arguably his best day as a pro with his first 100+ yard day with a touchdown.

A mediocre defense just couldn’t stop Justin Herbert, who collected 356 passing yards and a pair of passing touchdowns while also adding an eight-yard scramble into the end zone to go ahead for good in the start of the fourth quarter.

Philly is just as close to the Cowboys as the Giants are, yet appear to be heading in the opposite direction. With the Broncos and Saints on tap the next two weeks, we could see Philly tumbling down the NFC East totem pole by the time they take on NY next.
