With eight games remaining, the NY Giants have a lot of ground to make up in the back half of the schedule if they want to look at this season as a step in the right direction.

Entering a season with expectations as high as they’ve ever been in the Dave Gettleman era, the NY Giants have not met the hype thus far.

Despite ending the first half of the season on a high note with a win over the Raiders, head coach Joe Judge’s squad currently sits at 3-6, last in the NFC East and 13th in the NFC.

No one can see the future, but given what we’ve witnessed so far, we can muster up a loose prediction of how the season may play out from here on out for the Giants, giving us an idea of where it leaves this team heading into next season.

Here are game-by-game predictions for the NY Giants’ second half of the season

Week 11 @ Tampa Bay (Monday Night Football)

Back to where it all began.

What feels like yesterday, considering how forgettable the Giants have been the last couple of seasons, Daniel Jones returns to the site of his first career start and first career win down at Raymond James Stadium.

However, it won’t be Jameis Winston on the other side.

This time, it’s Tom Brady.

Funny enough, this isn’t the first time Brady and Jones have dueled. It’s actually the third time, despite playing in different conferences at one point and different divisions at the present moment.

Unsurprisingly, Brady has bested the Jones and NY Giants in both games, winning by scores of 35-14 up in Foxborough in a game where the Giants were decimated with injuries on offense on Thursday Night Football, and last year at MetLife Stadium by a much narrower score of 25-23, also on Monday Night Football.

Third time’s a charm?

If only things were that simple.

With the Buccaneers returning home having come off two straight losses against inferior teams sandwiched around a bye, it’s a tough spot to be their next opponent.

I don’t expect Brady and the Bucs to go full throttle on offense this week, as their problems without Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski have proven to be very real, and I have some faith the Giants put on a competitive enough performance coming off a bye week of their own.

With all of that being said, the Bucs won’t lose a third straight game. The offense and defense both wake up for a primetime matchup and overpower the Giants to get back on track.

Prediction: Bucs 30, Giants 20
