Predicting the Giants’ second half of the season
Week 15 NY Giants vs. Dallas
Unquestionably the toughest home game remaining on the NY Giants’ schedule comes against the Dallas Cowboys.
Outside of a surprisingly uncompetitive performance against Denver, the Cowboys have had an exceptional season to this point, touting the top offense in the league along with a top 10 defense.
This game comes 10 weeks after we were robbed of a classic NFC East battle when these two teams first played, as Daniel Jones was knocked out of the game just before the Giants tied the game up at 10 with just under three minutes to go in the first half. The Cowboys would go on to outscore the Mike Glennon-led Giants 34-10 for the remainder of the contest.
Would the game have gotten out of hand if not for injuries to not only Jones, but Barkley and Golladay as well? We’ll never know, but luckily, this game could give us an idea.
There’s a good chance the Cowboys will be a 10-win team at that point, while I have the Giants pegged at 5-8. As much as I’d like to think the Giants pull off a big upset at MetLife that Sunday, I don’t see it going that way.
The Cowboys roster is the best it’s been in years, while the Giants are still in a flux. Dak Prescott is 3-1 in his career on the road against the Giants, with his only loss coming in his rookie season. In those three wins since, he’s had 10 touchdowns to just one interception.
The Giants fight, as they seem to do quite often, but the talent disparity is too much to overcome.
Prediction: Cowboys 35, Giants 27
