Week 17 NY Giants @ Chicago

In the NY Giants’ final road game of the season, they’ll head to Chicago in what should be a freezing game up in Soldier Field.

Leading the Bears will be Justin Fields, who they drafted after trading up to the Giants spot in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It’s been a messy season for the Bears, to say the least. Through week 10, Fields has been sacked the most of any QB in the league, and currently ranks last in QBR. With that being said, Fields has played his best two games of the season in weeks 8 and 9 prior to the Bears bye week, going 36-for-56 with 466 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions to go along with 148 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

In theory, the NY Giants should win this game if it were tomorrow, but making this prediction under the assumption that Fields continues to improve and by week 16, he’ll routinely give opposing defenses trouble.

This also just feels like a typical letdown spot for the Giants; potential to string a couple of wins together late against the beatable competition, only to fall short. I think the Bears come away victorious in a run-heavy game for the Bears in freezing temperatures.

Prediction: Bears 17, Giants 14
