The NY Giants, led by Daniel Jones, aim to upset Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football
Daniel Jones aims to do something he’s never done, in his return to the site of his first career start, when the NY Giants square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football at Raymond James Stadium.
Jones, who will square off with Tom Brady for the third time in his young career, has never won in prime time but will get his final opportunity of this season to do so as the Giants aim to upset the defending Super Bowl champions.
The NY Giants begin the second half of the season on the fringes of the NFL Playoff picture, while also possibly possessing a pair of first-round picks in next spring’s NFL Draft (their own, and the Chicago Bears’), but Monday night’s game could set the tone for the final eight games.
Here’s a look at three bold predictions, and a score pick for NY Giants vs. Buccaneers:
Bold prediction No. 1: Quincy Roche leads the NY Giants in sacks
Quincy Roche enters the second half of the season riding momentum, and seemingly seizing an expanded role in the NY Giants’ front seven.
Prior to the bye week, Roche produced one sack and forced a pivotal fourth-quarter Derek Carr fumble that sealed the NY Giants’ victory. The former sixth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, claimed off waivers by the NY Giants seemingly supplanted former third-round draft choice Oshane Ximines.
It isn’t out of the realm of possibility, if Roche continues to see increased snaps, that he could finish with two sacks of Brady, and lead the NY Giants in this key category.
