NY Giants fire offensive coordinator Jason Garrett
After 1.5 seasons in New York, Jason Garrett is gone, fired by the NY Giants as offensive coordinator Tuesday
After 1.5 seasons as Offensive Coordinator for the NY Giants, Jason Garrett has been relieved of his duties.
The writing was on the wall last night. Coach Judge clearly was fed up, done with, and had enough of Garrett’s offense. The look on his face in the picture above says it all.
Garrett coordinated two of the worst offenses in the NY Giants’ modern history. They have scored 30 points only one time in Garrett’s 26 games as the head of the offense.
With Garrett gone, Freddie Kitchens is now expected to call the plays on offense. Garrett will now look to find a new team for the third time in four years.
Moving on from Garrett, this decision was a long time coming. There were reports of growing frustrations from players on offense with Garrett’s play calls, personnel usage, and formation design. He constantly hampered this offense by making bad calls and wrong reads.
The NY Giants must fix the offense immediately. There’s too much talent to keep performing the way this group has. Expect some new concepts and different route combinations to free up Kadarius Toney and find more chances for Kenny Golladay. It’s officially a new era for the NY Giants’ offense.
