NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley – DUD

For a player anticipated to be a focal point of the NY Giants’ offense, Saquon Barkley has devolved into a non-factor.

Despite rattling off his longest run of the season, a 32-yard dash off tackle, Barkley managed only 40 rushing yards, while averaging 3.1 yards per carry.

Barkley lacks the elusiveness and explosiveness that made him the No. 2 overall pick out of Penn State in 2018 and propelled him to an 1,800-yard from scrimmage rookie campaign. Injuries have certainly taken their toll; suffering an ankle injury in Week 5 this season after his return from a 2020 torn ACL, but Barkley is not the game-changer the NY Giants envisioned or that he was in the infancy of his career.
