Round 5, pick No. 147: Taulia Tagovailoa, QB, Maryland

Teams across the league have had success drafting and developing young quarterbacks, even with a franchise quarterback in place.

While Jones still likely needs to prove capable of being more productive and more protective of the football, having a young quarterback like Tagovailoa on the roster either to push Jones or as potential trade bait for a future deal could prove a wise investment.

Tagovailoa has flashed plus-athleticism, but his propensity for turning the football over might push him down some boards.

The brother of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Taulia has completed passed for 3,594 yards with 24 touchdowns to 11 interceptions for the Maryland Terrapins this season.

As a potential long-term backup and insurance policy for Jones or future trade chip in a quarterback-needy league, Tagovailoa could prove valuable for the NY Giants.
