The NY Giants have had some old geezers line up for them over their 97-year existence
The NY Giants have had some old players line up for them over the years. Players like Eli Manning and Michael Strahan were Giants for life from beginning to end, spanning 15 and 16 years respectively.
However, neither Manning nor Strahan was the oldest to ever wear the NY Giants’ uniform. In fact, neither even made the top-3 cut.
The NY Giants franchise is one of the oldest in professional football and there have been plenty of guys past 35 years old who’s played (and had success) for the NY Giants.
Here’s a look at the list of the oldest players in NY Giants’ franchise history.
No. 4 Oldest Player in NY Giants’ History: Eli Manning
Age: 38 Years Old
Manning starts off our list as the fourth oldest member in NY Giants’ history.
Eli is the longest-tenured player in franchise history, with the most games played, starts, and consecutive starts.
Manning was the face of the franchise for 16 years during one of the golden eras for the NY Giants. Eli quarterbacked the team to Super Bowls with both coming over the then immortal Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
Eli is the franchise leader in nearly every major passing category along with being one of the NFL’s great ironman players of the 2000s. Manning wasn’t at his best as he got older but his team surrounding him crumbled and eroded.
Manning’s last career start vs the Dolphins will always be remembered for No. 10 going out on a high note with a win at home. Manning was hailed a hero by the hometown crowd and got a roaring ovation with thunderous ‘Eli Manning!’ chants as he exited the game and walked off the field one last time.
